Timothy Esemu is a Senior Lecturer and the Dean of MUBS FMIB. Before becoming Dean of FMIB, he served as Dean Faculty of Marketing and Hospitality, and Head Department of Marketing and International Business for eight years.
He has served on several management committees at MUBS handling student and staff discipline, academic program development and policy, procurement as well as representing MUBS on committees in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives and the Makerere University Senate
He earned a PhD in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business University of Cape Town, MBA and BCom (Hons) degrees from Makerere University. In addition, he is a member of the ICSA (UK).
He has also undertaken consultancies and research studies for private, public and international organizations including UNCST, PSFU, UNCTAD, UPTC, ACTs etc.
Esemu’s academic work focuses on value chain analysis, innovation and its commercialization, sustainable marketing practices and consumption behavior, international marketing strategy, and monitoring and evaluation of SMEs market development strategies. He has taught marketing and international business courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels.
